The President of the Republic, Paul Biya has ordered that investigations be carried out on the Ngar-buh murder incident and alleged military excesses in the North West and South West regions.

The information was disclosed separately by the Minister of State, Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh last February 24, 2020 in a press release and at a press brief-ing by Government Spokesman and Communication Minister, Rene Emmanuel Sadi last February 27, 2020 in Yaoundé.

According to the release from the SG of the Presidency, “the Presidency of the Republic of Camer-oon expresses its deep concern about the content of the exchange abundantly relayed in some social networks between the President of the French Republic and an activist, on 22 February 2020 in Paris. The Head of State has given clear and firm instructions so that the Defence and Security Forces always perform their duty with professionalism and that the allegations relating to possible abuses be systematically investigated and if necessary appropriate sanctions be meted”The Commission of Inquiry was given eight days as from last February 28, 2020 to deliver its find-ings on what actually took place in the farming area of Ngarbuh in Donga Mantung Division of the North West region.The information on the commission was first disclosed in Ntumbaw village in Ndu by North West Governor, Adolphe Lele L’Afrique while handing over a consignment of goods from the Presiden-tial Couple to some 200 displaced people from Ngarbuh, in Ndu in the North West region.Without disclosing any detail, the Commission’s result is expected to be handed to the President of the Republic, Paul Biya on March 5, 2020 for exploitation.
